Cranston’s Mae Organization celebrated its 8th annual Be the Light fundraising gala on Feb. 18 at the Crowne Plaza. The organization’s mission is to promote healing and mental wellness for at-risk individuals and those affected by homelessness by providing basic life needs such as food, shelter and support while uplifting the spirit with therapeutic services which focus on wellness of each individual. In the last year, the Mae Organization provided over 29,000 combined hot meals and bag lunches and served over 500 individuals on a weekly basis. (Photos by Steve Popiel)
