Bernard G Kenahan ”BO” passed away peacefully at 91 years of age on Friday, November 25th, 2022 at the VA Hospital in Providence with family members at his side. He was the son of the late Charles and Rose Kenahan.  He is one of 15 siblings and is survived by brothers Robert and David.

Bernard was the loving father of Raymond Kenahan of Florida, Stephen Kenahan of North Carolina and Thomas Kenahan of Florida. He was the Grandfather to Sooni, Shannon, Ryan, Jonathan, Thomas Jr. and David Kenahan. Great Grandfather to Anthony, Kyle, Adalyn, Lilly, Hunter, Haley, and Jordan. He was the husband to his belated wife Rita Fisher and long time companion to Mary Lee Harrington. Bernard served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He returned to the states where he worked in the Heating and Oil Service Industry.

Bo began singing in school and continued through his entire life.  He will be best remembered for his “Ave Maria” sung for many occasions over the years.  He was a member of St. John and Paul Church in Coventry and the North Kingstown Chorus.  He was a member of the American Legion, #15 of East Greenwich, Knights of Columbus of Warwick, and the Korean War Association in Chepatchet, RI, along with, the Hibernian Club of Warwick. His volunteering with these organizations included parades, events, fundraising, and charity work.  He was most proud of his invitation to visit the Korean War Memorial in Washington, DC through a sponsorship program. 

He was proud of his family.  He recently spent a week in Myrtle Beach with many family members.  It was perfect timing to celebrate the life he lived, with those closest to him.

Relative and Friends are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, from 7 – 9 pm at the Russell J. Boyle and Son Funeral Home located at 142 Centerville Road, Warwick, RI. The Funeral will be held on Friday beginning at 930 am, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 1130 am at St. Kevin Church, 333 Sandy Lane in Warwick.  Burial with Military Honors at St Ann’s Cemetery in Cranston, RI.
