The Cranston East softball team’s Division III playoff run came to an end last week at the hands of Mount St. Charles.
The Bolts would get a win over Davies to start the postseason then suffer their first loss of the double-elimination tournament against the Mounties.
East rebounded in a big way when it cruised past Exeter-West Greenwich 16-6.
Jaeda Viveiros led the way at the plate for East, going 3-for-4 with four RBI. Jaylanie Rosado added a pair of RBI while Jazelle Monteiro and Estrella Rivas also knocked in runs.
Trisha Lizarda got the win in the circle while striking out four batters.
Mount would roll to an 11-1 victory the following game to oust the Bolts from contention. The game began on Friday afternoon but was called off in the first inning due to rain. The game resumed on Sunday morning.
East finished the season with an 8-9 record to complete a big turnaround season after failing to win a game in 2022.
