Troop 66 Boy Scouts get a visit from the mayor

Mayor Allan Fung visited with Troop 66 Cranston, Garden City at their campsite at Yawgoog Valley last Wednesday morning. There are 39 Scouts and 11 Troop leaders from Troop 66 who attended Camp Yawgoog last week. Fung observed their morning flag raising ceremony and talked with the scouts about their favorite camp activities.

He also participated in a Citizenship in the Community Merit Badge course. A requirement of earning the badge is speaking with a local elected official. The Mayor talked about balancing the various needs and interests of residents in the city of Cranston, and the benefits of having engaged constituents, especially kids. (Submitted photos and text)
