Food Drive

The Mohr Library will be collecting food for the RI Community Food Bank in January. They will be collecting at the library, downstairs in Youth Services, through Jan. 27. Most needed items are tuna, peanut butter, canned foods such as beans, soup, stews, chili, fruits, vegetables, juices, nutritious cereals, rice, pasta. No glass jars please.

Annual Pro-Life Dinner

The Rhode Island State Council of the Knights of Columbus will hold their annual pro-life dinner Jan. 17 at 7 p.m. at the Warwick Council located at 475 Sandy Lane, Warwick. The cost is $20 per person. For more information or reservations call Mark Bamberg at 934-3074.

Square Dance

North Central Chamber

The North Central Chamber of Commerce will hold its Annual Board of Directors Meeting Jan. 22, followed by the January "Business After Hours" at the Village at Waterman Lake "Chalet" in Greenville. The Annual Board of Directors Meeting will begin at 4 p.m. and Business After Hours will follow at approximately 5 p.m. There is no charge for chamber members to attend. The cost for non-members is $10. Appetizers and beverages will be served. The Village at Waterman Lake is located at 715 Putnam Pike in Greenville, just two miles west of Rt. 116. St. Brigid Church Bowling

The Social Ministries of St. Brigid Church, 1231 Plainfield St., is sponsoring their Third Annual Family and Friends Bowling on Jan. 25 at Johnston Town Hall Lanes, Atwood Ave., from 3-5 p.m. Registration is $12 for adults, $10 for children 12 and under. The price includes rental of shoes, drinks and refreshments along with surprises. Tickets are available after the 5p.m. Mass or on Sundays after the 8 and 10 a.m. Masses. Building Industry Scholarship Fund

The Rhode Island Building Industry Scholarship Fund is now accepting applications for their scholarship fund. The purpose of the fund is to aid Rhode Islanders who require financial assistance in the pursuit of education in the construction or building industry fields. Any Rhode Island resident who is unable to provide full payment of tuition or other costs for courses related to the construction or building industry is eligible. To receive a copy of the application, contact Maureen Myette at 333-3192 or e-mail mjmyette@cox.net. Deadline for accepting applications is March 1.
