Gary P. Chartier 69, of Warwick, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday June 7, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was the loving husband of Kathleen L. (Walsh) Chartier. Gary was a life-long Warwick resident. He was the son of the late Leonard A. and Catherine E. (Doughty) Chartier.
Gary was a graduate of Warwick Area Vocational School. After graduating he worked as a Commercial Fisherman for several years, then ultimately worked for ETCO Inc. as a Tool Setter for 45 years.
Gary loved traveling with his family, concerts, history, the outdoors, woodworking, and relaxing with a cold beer or a Rum Runner.
His family will sorely miss his quick wit, and dry sense of humor.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his three children, Melissa A. Reilly, Christopher E. Chartier, and Aimee C. Chartier and her husband Andrew K. Curry. He was the brother of Stephen Chartier (Karen) and the late David Chartier (Deborah). Gary is also survived by his sister-in-law Janet (Walsh) Kennedy, his ten nieces and nephews, his twelve great nieces and nephews, who lovingly referred to him as “GUG”, and his beloved dog Kai.
His Funeral will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 10 a.m. at the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Warwick. Visitation will be Thursday, June 12, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m. Burial will be in Pawtuxet Memorial Park Cemetery, Warwick.
