On Sept. 30 Owner Deborah Clift (holding certificate above), received a certificate from Mayor Ken Hopkins with her family during the official Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting for the third Christy’s Liquors her family has owned over the years. Son and future heir to the family empire, Howie Clift III (above right), stands alongside for support. During the festivities different beer and liquor vendors and distributors set up demonstrations and product displays designed to dazzle. The family bought the first store from John Christy at the corner of Reservoir and Legion Way years ago, and have owned two Christy’s Liquors in the past, but sold both locations before eventually opening this location and restarting the legacy.
