Climate crisis con job?

To the Editor:

What climate crisis?

For the past fifty years, fear-mongering climate change fanatics have tried to scare us into believing that we are only one or two years away from total climate catastrophe. It hasn’t happened.

Weather wise, we have so far enjoyed a pretty nice autumn. There have been many spectacularly beautiful days. We have had several short spells of heavy wind and rain, but, thankfully, they caused minimal damage.

That’s not what has been predicted by climate change hysterics who warn of ever worsening storms. In fact, just the opposite has happened. Recent storms have been less severe than those of years gone by. If that’s what climate change causes, then I’m for more of it.

This all begs the question: how many times must the climate alarmists be wrong before we call them a fraud? And, more importantly, does it make sense to abandon our dependable fossil fuel energy sources based on such faulty predictions?

I trust my oil-fired furnace. It can operate 24/7 regardless of whether the sun is shining or the wind is blowing. Solar and wind generated power can’t match that reliability.

We should not allow ourselves to become victims of this ongoing climate crisis con job. Doing so will inevitably leave us without reliable sources of energy. When that happens, we will be powerless to do anything about it.
