Cranston Public Schools extends its deepest condolences to the family of Mr. Alan Shawn Feinstein. As a valued community partner, Cranston resident, Cranston Public Schools parent and grandparent, Mr. Feinstein's impact on our schools and students was profound and enduring.
Mr. Feinstein's legacy is characterized by his unwavering commitment to fostering the best in our students through service to others. His initiatives have left an indelible mark on our educational community. The Feinstein Junior Scholar program encouraged community service projects within our schools, instilling a sense of civic responsibility in our youth. Through the Feinstein Junior Scholar cards, students gained free access to educational venues like Mystic Aquarium and Roger Williams Park Zoo, broadening their horizons and experiences.
Additionally, the Golden Ticket program empowered students to support their schools and other organizations, further reinforcing the value of community engagement. Our students were consistently inspired by Mr. Feinstein's programs and eagerly anticipated his visits, often marked by his iconic gold jacket. His influence extended beyond the classroom, offering valuable out-of-school experiences that might otherwise have been inaccessible to many.
Some of our Cranston Public Schools bear his name and are a testament to his significant contributions. We are grateful for Mr. Feinstein's support over the years and are committed to honoring his memory by continuing to embrace the values of community service and personal growth that he so passionately championed.
Mr. Feinstein's legacy will undoubtedly live on in the Cranston Public Schools, inspiring future generations of students to strive for excellence and serve their communities.
Sincerely,
The Cranston Public Schools Leadership Team
