Cranston City Councilman Richard Campopiano is pleased to announce his candidacy for re-election as the representative for Ward 4 on the Cranston City Council. With a proven track record of dedication and service over the past three years, Campopiano is eager to continue his work on behalf of the residents of Cranston.

“My three years as a councilman have been incredibly rewarding,” said Campopiano. “Helping people is in my nature, and serving as a councilman has allowed me to do just that. As a business owner in Cranston for the past 40 years, I bring a unique perspective to the city council and a deep commitment to our community.”

Campopiano’s platform focuses on three primary objectives: maintaining low taxes, preserving the rural character of Western Cranston, and addressing key issues such as flooding in Ward 4. In addition to these goals, he is passionate about the continuous improvement of Cranston's school system.

“As a member of the School Buildings Committee, I am dedicated to enhancing our educational facilities,” Campopiano stated. “With two grandchildren currently in Cranston schools and two more about to enter, I have a personal investment in ensuring our schools are top-notch. Furthermore, having a daughter and daughter-in-law who are teachers gives me a profound appreciation for the invaluable contributions of our educators.”

Over the past three years, Campopiano has fostered strong relationships with his fellow councilors on both sides of the aisle, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and healthy debate in good governance.

“We don't always agree, but that's what good government is all about,” he remarked.

Councilman Campopiano’s re-election bid has garnered enthusiastic support from his colleagues.

City Council Minority Leader Nicole Renzulli expressed her endorsement, saying, “Richard has been an invaluable member of the Cranston City Council. His dedication to our community and his collaborative spirit have made a significant impact. I wholeheartedly support his re-election and look forward to continuing our work together.”

Councilman Chris Paplauskas, who is term-limited and running for District 15 State Representative, also voiced his support.

“Richard’s commitment to Cranston is unparalleled,” he said. “It was an honor to bring him into city government and I’m proud to support his re-election.”

Campopiano said he looks forward to engaging with his constituents throughout the campaign, listening to their concerns, and earning their support for another term.

“I am excited to meet with as many of my constituents as possible and hope to continue serving the citizens of Cranston,” he said to conclude his candidate announcement. “I am grateful for the trust you have placed in me and humbly ask for your vote for another two years of progress and dedication.”

Councilman, Campopiano
