April 12, Historic Hope Village will be presented by The Hope Historical Society on Saturday 2 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Howland Barn, 35 Ryefield Rd. Exerts from RI PBS Special “Our Town” Scituate will be featured.

April 12, Knightsville Business Association will host an Easter egg hunt on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. located at Itri Park.  There will be 2 age groups for eggs, games, Easter pictures with the Easter bunny and more.

April 13, St. Mary's Church, a time capsule is to be interred as part of the church’s 100-year celebration on Palm Sunday after the 11 a.m. Mass.  It will include all related historical memorabilia (photos with names, dates, events, small plaques, etc.) from parishioners donated to the time capsule to immortalize their family.

April 16, VFW Post #183 BINGO, Open to all. Doors open at 6 p.m. and bingo starts at 6:30 p.m. There is a $30 entry fee and cash prizes. Please email vfwpost183bingo@gmail.com with any questions.

April 16, A Window to Your Overall Health, the URI Pharmacy Outreach Program will have a presentation on Wednesday at 10 a.m., on various health topics related to oral health at the Cranston Senior Center.

April 19 A Spring Fling Dinner The First Baptist Church, 1613 Main Street, West Warwick will be holding a Spring Fling Dinner Fundraiser on Saturday, April 19, from 1 – 3 p.m. This is an old-fashioned family style meal: Saugy hot dogs, beans, green salad, homemade potato and macaroni salads, brown bread, assorted desserts, coffee, punch and water.  There will also be a Spring Bulb Sale. Adults/$15, Children 6 – 10/$8 and under 5/Free.  All proceeds to go to help defray the cost to replace and install a new boiler system.

April 23, NAMI-RI Family-to-Family Course is a free 8-session educational program for family, significant others, and friends of people living with mental illness. April 26, Almost May Breakfast The Woodridge Congregational United Church of Christ, located at 546 Budlong Road in Cranston, will host its 41st Almost May Gourmet Breakfast on Friday, April 26, from 8 to 11 a.m. with continuous seating throughout the morning. This all-you-can-eat event features a menu including scrambled eggs, frittatas, Johnnycakes, waffles, ham, sausage, home fries, Holly’s famous baked beans, strudel, muffins, assorted pastries, juice, milk, coffee, and tea. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children ages 5 to 12, and will be available at the door.

Easter Bunny Portraits, Garden City Center will offer professional photography sessions from Friday, April 4 to Sunday April 19 only, starting at 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., for Easter bunny portraits. Available by reservation only, each portrait session is $85. If your desired time is fully booked, be sure to join the waitlist for any additional openings. Wickford Art Festival Artist Applications Now Open North Kingstown, RI – The Wickford Art Association (WAA) is excited to announce that artist applications for the 62nd annual Wickford Art Festival are now open. The outdoor art festival will take place on the weekend of July 12 & 13, 2025. Now through March 15, artists are invited to submit their applications to be considered for participation in this event. Artists interested in applying can visit the official festival website at www.wickfordart.org for more details. Applications will be reviewed by a jury panel, and selected artists will be notified in early April 2025.

Cranston Tree Program is now accepting applications for its spring planting. Seven- to eight-foot-tall trees, planted by a nursery, are available to homeowners for free. ​Residents living near highways are urged to apply. Walk with Ease is a self-directed six-week program beginning May 5 and ending June 13 by the Cranston Senior Center. Upon registering the Center will send you a log for you to track your days. To register call 401-780-6000.

Every Monday through Friday, Virtual Dementia Caregiver Support Groups are specifically designed for people caring for loved ones with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. First Wednesday of every month, The Caregiver’s Support Group will be holding its meetings at 2 p.m. at the Cranston Senior Center. PSA Free Gun Locks at Cranston & Warwick Public Libraries Secure storage of weapons is now the law in Rhode Island. A Free Gun Lock and Securing Weapons Safely information is now available at two locations: Cranston Central Library Reference Desk, 140 Sockanosset Cross Rd. Cranston, Warwick Central Library Reference desk, 600 Sandy Ln., Warwick. Stop by for a free gun lock and literature on how to securely store weapons. Oaklawn Grange Used Clothing Donation Shed in need of used clothing items at the Oaklawn Grange Donation Shed, 24 Searle Ave., Cranston. Accepted items only: Used Clothing, Shoes, Sneakers, Belts, Purses, Linens, Pillowcases, Blankets, Curtains, and Stuffed Animals. All items must be in useable condition. NAMI-RI Offers Family Support Groups; the RI chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness offers free support groups for families and friends of loved ones struggling with mental health. Groups are led by trained facilitators with experience with family members. Meetings last 1.5 hours, and everyone gets a chance to share. Cranston Senior Center is looking for your recipes; For the next few months, they will be collecting recipes from anyone who would like to share and see their favorite recipes in a future Cranston Senior Enrichment Center Cookbook.
