The Outdoor Track and Field Class Championships were this past weekend at Coventry High School, and a handful of locals made some noise as they get set for next month's State Championship at Brown University. Here is a look at some of the results: GIRLS

Locals shine at Class Championships

The Outdoor Track and Field Class Championships were this past weekend at Coventry High School, and a handful of locals made some noise as they get set for next month’s State Championship at Brown University.

Here is a look at some of the results: GIRLS

The Cranston West girls team finished the day in seventh place with 38 points while East placed 13th with six points.

Madison Alves took a third-place finish in the 100 meter dash as well as fifth in the 200 dash. Teammate Mikaya Parente finished behind her in seventh.

Cranston East’s Zoe Catrambone finished fourth in the 400 dash while West’s Lindsey Hobin took third in the 100 hurdles.

The West team of Alves, Parente, Hobin and Adrianna Singharaj took second place in the 400 relay, while East’s Catrambone, Aislinn Baxter, Mikayla Brady and Eden Fisher placed sixth in the 1,600 relay. West’s Kylie Coleman, Dea Xhupi, Sophie McElroy and Chloe Cabral then took eighth in the 1,600.

East’s team of Baxter, Fisher, Lia Dietrich and Andi Miranda-Duarte finished seventh in the 3,200 relay.

Catrambone would go on to take eighth in the high jump, while Alves took seventh in the pole vault for West. Parente then placed second in the long jump, while Singharaj took second in the triple jump.

Ava West finished in eighth place in the shot put for the Falcons while East’s Samantha Sainristil finished sixth in the discuss. West’s Vy Ho finished ninth in the discuss, followed by teammate Juliana Bucci in 10th. West’s Corinne Rose placed eighth in the javelin competition, with Ho taking 10th behind her. BOYS

The Cranston West team went on to finish 13th with nine point, while East finished right behind at 14th with four points.

Michael Conti took home a sixth-place finish for the Falcons in the 100 dash, as well as ninth in the 200 dash.

Denno Louis finished seventh in the 400 dash for East, while West’s David DelBonis took seventh in the 110 hurdles.

The West team of Conti, Alex DelNigro, Nicholas DelNigro and Kris Degaitas took fifth in the 400 relay, while East took eighth with the team of Jamari Cardoso-Mason, Jacob Hyun, Mason Harris and Carlos Santos. East’s team of Harris, Louis, Darion Etheridge and Michael Johnson finished fifth in the 1,600 relay, followed by West in sixth with the team of Jon Menard, Nicholas DeFazio, Dylan Maples and Nate Quero.

East’s team of Johnson, Etheridge, Nicholas Cobb and Tyler Shammas finished fifth in the 3,200, while West’s Maples, Aaron Bun, Niko Montaquila and Peter Morales took sixth.

Rashed Koulibaly finished 10th in the high jump for West while Conti took fifth in the long jump. Teammate Alex DelNigro would then take eighth and Cam Alves 10th.

Steve Faccenda later placed seventh in the shot put for West, while Nicholas DelNigro took fifth in the javelin, followed by Alves in seventh and Carmino Mobilia in ninth.
