National Prescription Take Back Day

Friday, April 29 – 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

RSVP’s Green Seniors and Cranston Police Department

Drop off your unwanted, unused or expired prescriptions/medications between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. We will properly dispose of them for you!

 

 

May Breakfast at the Center

Monday, May 2 – 11:30 a.m.

Suggested Donation: $3

Join us for a yummy breakfast that includes juice, scrambled eggs, baked ham, French toast, Greek yogurt and egg and cheese on a biscuit. Call 780-6134 for your reservation.

 

Tips for Traveling Seniors

Wednesday, May 4 – 10 a.m.

URI Pharmacy Outreach Program

Planning a trip? Make sure you know how to store your medications properly to ensure their efficacy and that you adhere to rules applying to the transportation of medications. Also to be discussed: vaccines, allergies, medical history, disabilities and resources available to assist the traveler to have a safe trip.

 

Walk With Ease

Six weeks, three times a week

Beginning May 9, ending June 17.

Tuesdays 9 a.m. at the Cranston High School West Track (optional)

Spring is here -- time to get out and walk. Our Walk With Ease is a self-directed walking program. You walk on your own three times a week. You keep a log and submit it at the end of six weeks. Let us know if you are also interested in walking at the Cranston High School West Walking Track on Tuesdays at 9:00 a.m. A staff person will meet you there. This is optional. Only if we have a minimum of 6 people interested will we offer the Tuesday option. Register by emailing Maria at mrondeau@cranstonri.org or calling 780-6000. Register to be sent a log and, if interested, walking on Tuesdays at the track.

 

Tools for Healthy Living

Tuesdays Beginning May 17 ending June 21

9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Facilitators: Mary Lou Pearson RN & Jackie Rizzi

This FREE workshop is for those individuals who simply want to improve their quality of life. Step up and join us for six weeks of this evidenced – based program. This interactive workshop will improve your overall health…topics include: diet, exercise, communication skills with your provider and more. Participants will receive a workbook and those successfully completing the program will receive a gift certificate. Space is Limited. Call 78-6000 to register.

 

Elder/Adult Police Alert Registration

(Alzheimer’s disease/Dementia Alert Form)

This form is intended to be filled out by the primary caregiver of a person who may wander from his/her home. The information will be kept confidential and will only be used to assist the police and others who may have to search for the person. You must provide a recent photo of the person to complete the registration. This form can be downloaded from the Cranston Police Department website, or you may contact our Social Services Division 780-6254, 780-6200 or 780-6255.
