Students, faculty, and staff from Cranston High School West boarded four buses last Tuesday night and headed to Hasbro Children’s Hospital for a Good Night Lights performance. The buses were escorted by volunteers from the Cranston Police Department, and family members of the students followed the caravan up Route 95 to Providence.
Upon their arrival, the students dropped off donations of toys, crafts and other activities for the patients at the hospital, all of which had been collected at the school. The student groups, including members of Student Leadership, Red Storm, That Falcon Band, Westernettes and Falconettes, staff and family members lined up across the street from the hospital, many flashing their lights towards the hospital, and gave several rousing performances for the patients, who flashed their lights back to the students as they watched. Steve Brosnihan, founder of Good Night Lights stopped by to thank the CHSW community for their visit. CHSW last performed at Good Night Lights in November 2019.
