Dear Mr. Maine and students,

Congratulations to all of you who took the time and put forth such sincere effort in examining this year’s Gaspee Committee’s essay question: “Please chose one of The United States Bill of Rights and explain it’s history.”

The Winners are: Honorable Mention, Soleil Peang, Western Hills Middle School, $75; Third Place. Gianna Simone, Western Hills Middle School, $100; Second Place, Jaly Espinal Matos, Western Hills Middle School, $125; and First Place, Hadry Aliciea, Western Hills Middle School, $150.

All winners and their essays will be posted on the Gaspee website www.gaspee.org. The winners will be contacted by phone/txt … with the details of their awards and information regarding their voluntary participation in the Gaspee Day Parade on June 8, 2024.

Hurrah!!! to all of your hard work and remember, many boy and girl patriots from The American Revolution were no older than you are now.
