The Center for Women & Enterprise (CWE), a nationally recognized nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting business owners and entrepreneurs, is proud to announce the promotion of Lindsey Ramirez from Program Manager to the role of Director for the Rhode Island Women’s Business Center. This appointment is a result of Lindsey's skills and her unwavering commitment to empowering individuals in their entrepreneurial journeys.
CWE has been a driving force in assisting entrepreneurs across Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Vermont since its inception in 1995. With a strong focus on fostering inclusive economic empowerment, CWE ensures that women business owners and aspiring women entrepreneurs have access to the resources, tools, and support necessary for success.
The Women’s Business Center is run in partnership with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) to provide services to the growing number of women entrepreneurs in the State. With a diverse background in tech/software development, teaching, and entrepreneurship, Lindsey brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her new role. She also played a pivotal role in community events during the early stages of the pandemic, showcasing her ability to collaborate and uplift various groups, including unhoused populations, local artists, and business owners in Jersey City, New Jersey.
CWE’s VP of Program Operations Michelle Miller expressed her confidence stating, "Lindsey's dedication, experience, and passion for entrepreneurship make her the perfect choice for this role. We are excited for her to continue our mission of offering resources, fostering collaboration within the business community, and ensuring that aspiring entrepreneurs receive the support they need to start and grow their businesses.
“I feel greatly honored for the opportunity to serve as the Director,” said Lindsey Ramirez. “I believe that freedom & self-sufficiency in entrepreneurship are things we all deserve chances to experience.”
