The Cranston Western Little League All-Stars claimed a trio of District I championships as the 12’s, 11’s and 10’s all took home victories to advance to the state tournament.

The 12’s topped crosstown rival Cranston East in an 11-0 shutout.

Macin Galligan had a big game at the dish, collecting four RBI on two hits while Dylan Phillips, Damian Minyetti and Nick Tocco also knocked in runs.

Casey Carbone was stellar on the mound for CWLL, pitching all four innings and allowing just three hits and striking out seven batters. East’s Patty O’Grady and Danny Mahoney combined for five strikeouts.

The 11’s cruised to an 18-0 win over North Providence. Nolan Winters led the way with two hits and three RBI while Ashton Pelagalli and Colton E recorded two RBI in the win. Also recording RBI were JJ Hamilton, Aydenn Reyes, Nicholas Delngenis, Jacoby Cruz and Michael Bianco.

Winters and Brad Dempsey combined for a three-inning no-hitter on the mound and finished with six strikeouts between the two of them.

The 10’s topped North Providence in a 10-5 decision. CWLL took a 4-1 lead in the first inning and never looked back.

Jaxson Pineda and Nicholas Ruggieri led the team at the plate with two RBI each while Brooklyn Bank, John Durante and Will Moretta all knocked in runs as well.

Kameron Monahan and Nazlin Benzan combined for 12 strikeouts on the mound in the win.

“With most of the guys back from the team that reached the regionals, we had an idea that our guys would be talented and would know what the All-Star process is like. The group was able to hit the ground running and that’s why we were able to have so much success. I like where we’re at heading into the state tournament. We just need to keep playing good baseball. The guys that are back are leading by example,” said manager Sean Hart, who was also thrilled with Monahan and Benzan’s performances on the mound as the two only allowed seven runs overall in the past four games.

“It’s huge to have them and I trust them immensely because they have pitched in big games before. They’re never afraid of the moment,” said Hart.
