The Carolyn Dutra Dance Studio held its yearly show at the Garden City Gazebo on Tuesday August 1. Starting at 6 p.m., about 35 dancers from ages three to 16 performed for the audience separated into a total of ten performances.
Each group of students performed to a different song with their own unique costumes, but two students, ten-year-old Eleanor Schrag and sixteen-year-old Libby Dextradeur, were chosen as soloists and took to the stage all alone to wow audiences.
The school performs yearly and, thanks to their experience, were equipped with a handy E-Z Up changing space to set up on premises for dancers that were going to perform in more than one dance. Groups were generally made up of students within three years of each other's age in order to create a cohesive performance and to help maintain a uniform level of skill and ability during performances.
