Edward R. Derosier “Butch”, 77, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home on Tuesday, June 10, 2025.
He was the beloved husband of Julie (Paquin) Derosier for 40 years. Edward was the devoted son of the late Edward Derosier and Doris (Johnson) Derosier. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his loving daughter Michelle Derosier-Pimentel with her husband Donald, and his loving son Edward R. Derosier Jr. with his wife Christian. He also leaves behind his mother-in-law Phyllis Paquin, his sister-in-law Charlene Ricci and his beloved nephews Matthew and Jay.
Born in Providence, Edward was a long-time resident of Warwick. A true Rhode Islander, he was happiest while on his boat in Narragansett Bay. He loved to fish, clam, quahog and keep an eye on the boats heading out to bay while sitting quietly at Oakland Beach each morning.
Edward was a proud, lifetime member of the Oakland Beach Volunteer Fireman Club. In his free time, you could find him sitting on his porch, feeding the birds and listening to the Boston Red Sox on the radio. Above all, Edward loved and cherished his family who will miss him dearly.
His family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff at Hospice VNA of Care New England for all their care and support over the last six months.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 10:00am to 11:00am on Monday, June 16, 2025, in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave. Warwick. Edward’s funeral service will begin at 11:00am in the Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest in Pawtuxet Memorial Park, Warwick.
