Despite COVID-19, many Cranston CTE students take home wins

Posted

Special to the Herald

Typically, the Rhode Island SkillsUSA state competition for career and technical students takes place in mid-March, and for some students, it did.

However, for many whose competitions were canceled during the ever-changing days of March when life changed moment to moment, it did not.

Despite the cancellations, many students from the Cranston Area Career and Technical Center brought home medals and certificates of recognition in their area of competition. During normal times, any student receiving a gold medal in their state competition would have the opportunity to attend the national competition, which was slated to be held in Louisville, Kentucky, in June of this year. However, that competition has been canceled as well.

Those students who brought home wins are listed below.
