Dutemple gets in the spooky spirit

Posted

More than 300 students, parents, teachers and administrators from Dutemple Elementary came to the Halloween party on Friday, Oct. 26 at Cranston East. The children enjoyed dancing, decorating gourds, playing games of Simon Says and musical chairs, and exploring "mystery boxes" that contained all sorts of spooky ingredients.

Students also had a "Halloween Parade" and several won prizes, including backpacks featuring the school's dolphin mascot. CPS Superintendent Dr. Judith Lundsten visited and watched Nancy Richardson's Dutemple Chorus perform Halloween songs.

Special thanks were given to Dutemple mom Chef Eboni Adams of "Cakes by Eboni" for donating a thrilling cupcake display. Thanks were also given to Pippin Orchards for donating apples to the party.

"We love seeing our families come out and enjoy themselves at our events, and I thank all of our volunteers for making the night possible. We at the PTO really enjoy hosting a fun, safe Halloween party and seeing the smiles on all of our students' faces," said Jen Davey, PTO president.
