Dylan Zelazo explores run for Cranston’s Ward 6 council seat

Posted

Dylan Zelazo announced on April 11 that he is strongly considering running for City Council to represent Cranston’s 6th Ward.

Zelazo is the Director of Administration for the City of Pawtucket, where he helps lead the budgeting process, collective bargaining negotiations and day-to-day governmental operations. Zelazo also contributes to the City’s economic development efforts.

Zelazo lives with his wife, Amanda, and their two sons, Jack (6) and Ari (5), and daughter, Brynn (9 months). He holds a master’s degree in Public Affairs, concentrating in Local Government Management from Indiana University and a bachelor’s in Political Science from Providence College, with minors in Public Administration and Business Administration.

“The neighborhoods and businesses of the Sixth Ward deserve the best representation,” said Zelazo. “I look forward to continuing to engage with my neighbors throughout the ward about the future of our neighborhoods and city. It is important that our elected leaders are responsive and focused on the needs of the residents and taxpayers they represent. There is far too much political posturing and grandstanding going on these days and not nearly enough attention being paid to our basic quality of life needs. We need proven leaders who will focus on our needs to make sure that we leave a Cranston for our kids that is even better than the one we’ve been fortunate enough to call home. I believe I can make that difference for our ward and I hope to earn the voters’ support.”

Friends of Zelazo will hold a fundraiser, hosted by Maria Bucci, Chairwoman of the Cranston Democrats, at Bistro 22 in Garden City on Tuesday, April 26 at 6:30 p.m. Zelazo invites all Cranston residents to come by and join the gathering.
