To the Editor:
I would like to address the elephant in the room. A lot of people care about their 2nd amendment rights but don’t show up when it matters. Last night’s Johnston Town Council meeting was no exception. More responses for 2a support came from social media than the hand full of yellow shirts in attendance.
We must recognize that the Johnston Town Council are all Democrats and yet they did the right thing and passed unanimously the 2a resolution 2025-23 to protect Johnston citizens from the state house overreach.
So, what’s a Johnston Democrat? Almost Republican but afraid of the label. They are afraid they won’t get anything accomplished without the Dem label. It seems like our Northwest RI neighbors are doing just fine and couldn’t be happier as Republicans.
We need to recognize that anyone calling themselves a JFK Democrat, really needs to stop embarrassing themselves like that’s a good excuse as their party was hijacked by the progressives. Camelot has been dead and gone for over 60 years! Please have courage and register as Republicans. Stop talking the talk and start walking the walk. Register Republican today at vote.sos.ri.gov
The rest of the 2a community understand that it isn’t just showing up at the State House or at a city/town council meeting, it is showing up to vote on election day. It wasn’t the Republicans that sold out at the State House. The Republicans are fighting for your rights every day. Vote a Republican Straight down ballot.
In the meantime, we are looking for Republican candidates to run for office. Contact us at info@johnstonri.gop.
Sandra Taylor, Chair,
Johnston Republican Town Committee
