Elsie M. (Spencer) Penta, age 84, formerly of Warwick, passed away on Friday, August 12, 2022, at the Respiratory & Rehabilitation Center of Rhode Island in Coventry.  She was the wife of the late Silvio A. Penta, Sr.

Born in Warwick, a daughter of the late George W. Spencer, III and Mildred A. (Turney) Spencer, she was a life-long Warwick resident.

Mrs. Penta was employed at Leviton Manufacturing in Warwick for over 35 years before retiring in 1999.

She was a member of Rice City Church in Coventry and Mt. Vernon Church in Coventry, and served on the Ladies Aid Society at both churches.

Elsie is survived by a son, Silvio A. Penta, Jr (Lori)., and a daughter, Elsie M. Nadiger (Franklin), both of Warwick; a sister, Kathy Forde of Warwick; seven grandchildren, Michael Nadiger, Alex Nadiger, Christine Hjerpe, Silvio Penta, III, Jonathon Penta, William Puhacz, and Nikole Cooney; and five great-grandchildren.

She was the sister of the late George W. Spencer, IV, Gladys Beatty, and Priscilla Nelson.

Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 18, at 10 a.m. in the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Spring Green, Warwick.  Burial will follow at Pawtuxet Memorial Park, Warwick.  Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, August 17, from 4-7 p.m.
