Fall fun in Warwick

With summer winding down, it’s time to start exploring things to do in the fall.

New England is known for its beautiful foliage and of course there will still be beach days left to enjoy. Why not combine the two and pay a visit to Rocky Point Park!

There is a small beach right at the end of the entrance road. Park in the small lot on the right side of Rocky Point Avenue. It’s a short walk to the beach area. There you can see beautiful views including the Newport and Jamestown bridges. There’s nothing like the smell of the salt air and the wonderful smell of the ocean breezes!

The path that runs along the water is just under a two-mile walk, however you can walk as little or as far as you’d like.

Another great place to visit is a little gem that is tucked way on Rocky Point Avenue called Rocky Point Blueberry Farm. This season was wonderful because of the sunny hot days and lots of rain at night. The blueberries were big and sweet! The season ran until the end of August.

Although blueberry season is over, they will have a pumpkin walk this fall. They are hoping for two weekends in October. It was fun getting to know the owners, Nancy, Sonya and Stephen. They are a mother, son and daughter-in-law team!

I asked how does one get into the blueberry business? Sonya explained that she used to bring her son, Stephen, there as a child.

When the opportunity came around to buy it the second time, they jumped at it!It’s a family business for sure with everyone passing out buckets and giving the children tips on finding the best blueberries.

They will be featuring a haunted tree, make your own s’mores and hot cocoa and cider. With the help of the Warwick Neck Association and the Warwick Garden Club, this will be sure to be a hit! What a great way to enjoy the fall weather and have lots of fun for the kiddos!

fall, fun
