FORD V FERRARI
* * *
(Racing film)
If you are into auto racing (we're not), you should enjoy this long movie based on actual characters about a racing team connected with Ford taking on the Italian car manufacturer that was a perennial winner at La Mans.
The story takes place in 1966 when Carroll Shelby (Matt Damon) teams up with Ken Miles (Christian Bale) to develop a car that can outrun the Italians in the 24-hour race. The racing scenes go on and on, interspersed with the volatile relationship between the two close friends and their battles with Ford executives and Henry Ford II.
It all comes down to the big race and the surprise ending.
Rated PG-13, with profanity.
