Four-term School Committee Representative, and two-term Chair, Daniel Wall, is running for the City Council in Ward 6. “Cranston needs a stable city government to attract economic growth, and parents want stability for our schools. I have gained valuable experience on the School Committee and would bring that knowledge to the City Council.”

Dan and his family have resided in Cranston for over twenty-two years. He is the father of two daughters, both of whom attended Cranston schools, and are now attending college. Dan earned a bachelor’s degree from Providence College and a master’s degree from Brown University.

Since college, Dan has served as an educator and department chairperson in Providence Schools for the past twenty-six years. “Education is the greatest equalizer and I believe in the power and value of education.”

Wall said that guiding the School Committee through the Covid pandemic was his most important accomplishment on the School Committee. Wall also expressed pride in the way the School Committee worked with administrators and teachers to be among the first districts in the State to bring the students back to class in person.

Wall also cited the passage of the school buildings plan as a historical accomplishment during his service on the School Committee. “The passage of the school buildings plan is a highlight that will be a significant factor in improving Cranston Schools for generations to come. I’m proud to have been part of the School Committee, that, working with the people, helped make this a reality.”

“My track record is one of maintaining high quality schools while being fiscally responsible and accountable to the taxpayers. I have demonstrated an ability to work with people across the political aisle to address important issues.”

In the coming weeks Wall says he will be walking the neighborhoods of Ward 6 to hear from the residents and bring their government back to them. “Most importantly, my public service has been marked by representation of the people that is accessible and responsive. When the people are involved in their government, they can really make a difference.”
