EMBEDDED: Cranston Police congratulated Amy McCarthy of Gateway Healthcare for being named CIT-RI Mental Health Partner of the Year. This award was presented to McCarthy by U.S. Sen. Jack Reed for her work in the CIT (Crisis Intervention Team) here in Cranston and across the state. She “has been instrumental in making our mental health response a success in Cranston,” according to Cranston Police. “Amy is one of several embedded clinicians from Gateway and CCAP who respond with officers to mental health crisis situations in the city.” Below, check out a closeup shot of the trophy.
