WITH SERVICE: Matthew Volpi, President of the St. Mary’s Feast Society, hand delivers a free frozen turkey to a family in need this holiday season.

GETTING THE WORD OUT: Holding up a sign at the St. Mary’s Feast Society to draw in more people in need to receive a free frozen turkey is Gunner DeCiccio, age 10.

VOLUNTEER: Volunteering at the Free Turkey at the St. Mary’s Feast Society was Ann Marie Harty along with Ryan Nardolillo.

IT TAKES A VILLAGE: Standing in front of the Cola Foods truck were the many volunteers involved in the Free Turkey Giveaway. Cola Foods donated the sausage meat.

Thanks to the generosity of local business and community leaders, approximately 200 frozen turkeys were given to those in need this past Sunday at the St. Mary’s Feast Society. The event was sponsored by Thirsty Beaver Cranston, Cranston Cares, Park Place, DeMarais Plumbing, Mike Lombardi, Nino’s Pizza and many more.

Those who went home with a free turkey that day also walked away with 1lb of Marcello’s Ground Sausage Meat, thanks to a generous donation from Cola Foods.

Organized by Ryan Nardolillo, the event was held in memorial to his late father, Robert A. “Bobby” Nardolillo, Jr., and the late SGT. Adam DeCiccio. (Text by Meri R. Kennedy/Herald photos by Steve Popiel)
