Gerard D. “Jerry” Goyette, age 78, of Warwick, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 19, 2022.  He was the beloved husband of Joan (Fitzpatrick) Goyette for fifty years. He was the devoted father to Katherine (David Harrington) and proud grandfather to his two precious granddaughters, Anna and Claire.
Born in Providence, a son of the late Gerard P. and Elizabeth C. (Meehan) Goyette, Jerry grew up in Pawtucket, graduating from Tolman High School.  He graduated from Bryant College and served in the Rhode Island Army National Guard. He lived in Warwick for the last 47 years.
Jerry was employed as a controller at Rusco Steel Co. in Warwick before retiring in 2003.  He was earlier employed as an accountant at United Truck & Bus Co. in Providence for 23 years.  In retirement, Jerry was an avid reader of daily newspapers and nonfiction books. He also enjoyed gardening, taking long walks, traveling with his wife Joan, and vacationing with his family in Cape Cod. 
He is also survived by his sister, Marie Fox and husband Joseph of South Kingstown, and his brother, Peter Goyette of Fredericksburg, VA, along with many nieces and nephews.
Jerry loved spending time with his family and many friends. He was kind and gentle person, always ready and willing to lend a hand. He will be remembered for his devotion to his family and his generosity. 
His funeral was held on Tuesday, May 24, from the Barrett & Cotter Funeral Home, 1328 Warwick Avenue, Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Peter Church, 350 Fair Street, Warwick.  Burial was in Pawtuxet Memorial Park, Warwick.
