Gingerbread house galore

FIRST TO ARRIVE: Ten-year-old Avery Bouvier was the first person to arrive at the Artists’ Exchange gingerbread house decorating contest. She crushed up wheaties to create a thatched roof for her creation.

YEARLY TRADITION: Every year the Matoian family comes together to make decorate gingerbread houses.

The Artists’ Exchange was filled with gingerbread houses on Saturday as kids participated in the 18th annual gingerbread house decorating contest. The organization still has gingerbread houses for sale which families can take home for $12 per kit. Additionally, individuals can purchase a wreath from Artists’ Exchange for $20.
