With Cranston phasing out several older schools to make way for new facilities, Gladstone Elementary that opened on March 6, 1953 held a goodbye ceremony to give students, teachers and alumni one last chance to say goodbye on June 16. With the end of this school year here, Gladstone will be closed to prepare for the Gladstone Street School construction that will take place this summer.
Over 200 former teachers and students showed up to say their last farewells to a school that meant a lot to them. (Photos by Steve Popiel)
