July 11, NAMI-RI: Registration Family-to Family course  The Rhode Island chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI-RI) is now accepting registration for our summer session of NAMI’s Family-to-Family course which begins Tuesday, July 11, at 6:30 p.m. This is a free and virtual, 8-session educational program for family, significant others and friends of people with mental health conditions. It is a designated evidence-based program, which means that research shows that the program significantly improves the coping and problem-solving abilities of the people closest to a person with a mental health condition. NAMI-Rhode Island’s Family-to-Family course is taught by trained family members who have experience with a loved one, and includes presentations, discussions and interactive exercises. July 19, Summer Concert Series/Food Trucks on Wednesday, July 19 from 6 – 8 p.m., at Pawtuxet Village Park, 2 East View Street, Warwick, the City of Warwick presents their Summer Concert Series, so grab your lawn chair, blanket, friends, family and enjoy the evening with music by Mary Day. The music is from 6 – 8 p.m., but the food trucks will be ready at 5 p.m. to purchase your treats before the show begins.

June 30, Chomp! Storytime Friday morning from 10 to 10:30 a.m. come listen to stories about alligators and other things that go “chomp” at this storytime with Emily from the Cranston Public Library.


July 8, New Knightsville Park Opening Celebration, Saturday, July 8 at 5 p.m., the new Knightsville Park will officially to the public. The opening celebration will have a traditional ribbon cutting starting at 5 p.m., followed by a band concert into the evening by the Reggie Centracchio Quintet, featuring retired Lieutenant Gen. Reginald A. Centracchio. Free and welcome to the public.

July 8 & 9, Wickford Art Festival, The Wickford Art Association announces the production of the 60th Wickford Art Festival on Saturday, July 8 & Sunday, July 9 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. The Festival will be held at Wilson Park in North Kingstown. Wilson Park is located just outside of historic Wickford Village, where the first Festival was held in 1962. July 8, Live Bait, Artists’ Exchange, 50 Rolfe Square, Cranston, Doors open at 7 p.m., show at 7:30 p.m. “True Stories From Real People”, Rhode Island’s longest running adult story telling show for over 10 years. No scripts or notes, no rants or stand-up, just true stories told in six minutes or less. Audience participation encouraged; performers and non-performers are welcome or just watch an evening of funny, gut-wrenching, scary, enlightening, soul-baring, true stories!” Continues every first Saturday of the month at this new location. July 20, Music on Main Stroll
, on Thursday, July 20, starting at 5 p.m., East Greenwich Chamber of Commerce will hold its Monthly Stroll on Main Street, Main Street, East Greenwich.  This month is Music on the Main Stroll.  Local restaurants and retailers provide side-walk offerings.  Come join a great local gathering!

Sept 11, The Comedy Course The Comedy Course is returning for a 6th year, every Monday night for 6-weeks. Three instructors, with over 100 years of combined stage experience, will guide you on a 6-week journey from writing your first joke to performing your debut comedy routine. Oct 14, Annual  No More Hunger Walk A walk to call attention to food insecurity and raise funds for local food pantries  will be held on Saturday, October 14. Registration is at 9 a.m. and the walk begins at 10 a.m. Over $20,000 has been raised in the past two years. Every Thursday,  Get-a-Job-Thursdays We Make RI, an organization that provides free manufacturing training, hosts a series of job fairs every Thursday from 11 a.m. to noon, 200 First Ave., Cranston. We Make RI offer job seekers a chance to meet with employers, get career counseling, resume help and more. Every Saturday, Pawtuxet Village Farmers Market The Pawtuxet Village Farmers Market, every Saturday, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m., offers locally grown vegetables, eggs, fruit, meat, honey, cheese, baked goods, prepared foods, locally roasted coffee, and local packaged foods (kimchi, hot sauce, marinara, sauerkraut, seitan). The market features vegan and gluten-free options and local handmade goods. There will also be food trucks, live music, and occasional visits from community groups.

Amenity Aid – Volunteers Needed We are looking for volunteers that would like to help us plan and staff community events, organize hygiene product collection drives and raise funds for Amenity Aid.  Amenity Aid’s mission is to improve the health and wellbeing of vulnerable populations by creating access to essential hygiene products. Serving all of Rhode Island, we distribute toiletry necessities to those most vulnerable through our network of direct service agencies.
