Cranston YMCA held a surprise 101st birthday party for Frank Mancini, 101, on May 3. His grandkids told him they were dropping him off and leaving, but they stayed.
Mancini was given a certificate. They named a corner of the pool the “Frank Mancini Corner.” It’s the spot where he goes 2-3 days each week to do water exercises.
He’s been a member for as long as they have records (more than 27 years). Before that, pool visitors were marked on a chalkboard.
Mancini has three grandkids and two great grandchildren. His grandchildren, siblings, Michelle and Michael Mancini, helped to celebrate his 101st birthday at the YMCA.
