Cranston residents gathered on a rainy Sunday, December 3 for a warm welcome: Holiday Cheer from the Governor Sprague Mansion. The open house event hosted by the Cranston Historical Society was open to anyone who wanted to step in, free of charge. Pianist Andrew Kaplan played a selection of Christmas favorites on the mansion’s phenomenally rare Steinway while guests enjoyed punch and cookies. The outdoor tree lighting was delayed, unfortunately. But in such a beautiful old home, who could complain? (Photos by Steve Popiel)
