Come for the run, stay for the fun!
The fun continues after everyone has crossed the finish line, with festivities that include live music, award-winning food trucks, and refreshments for both children and adults.
“We like to say that It’s not just a road race. It’s a party!” says race director Sarah Harrigan, Co-President of the Edward R. Rhodes Parent Teacher Association, which is organizing the event. “What’s so special about this event isn’t just about the money that we’re able to bring in to support the Rhodes school community. It’s about all of the people and businesses who come out to show their support.”
The annual road race is the PTA’s top fundraiser for the year, generating revenue that funds extracurricular activities, field trips, family events, science fairs, and many more.
The annual Rhodes 5k event is a great time! We raise a lot of money for the school and extra programs for our students, and we come together as a community to have fun!” said Principal Gina Armstrong. “One of the critical points of pride and a crucial ingredient to our success is the great community we have at Rhodes. Our students are fantastic, our teachers and staff are excellent, and we have a committed group of families and neighbors who are incredibly generous in their support of our school.”image.png
In addition to covering race costs, which include free t-shirts, professional racing management, and food truck vendors, the PTA has a fundraising goal of $3000.
