It’s a new RI game

Okay, when Rhode Islanders think of Cranston they think of …? If you answered St. Mary’s Feast, Chapel View or Budlong Pool you wouldn’t be scoring any points. Neither the feast nor either location are among the nine locations listed in the latest game produced by retired CCRI professor Roberta Humble in her ongoing effort to preserve historic Westerly Armory. So far, Humble estimates between the many Rhode Island centric games and books she’s produced she’s raised close to $100,000 for the armory. Her newest game, Rhode Island Says, sells for $10 and is available in nine Rhode Island locations including the Tiger’s Eye in Conimicut, Ocean State Apparel, the Warwick Beacon and Where is RI? in the Warwick Mall. She will also be at the Small Business Saturday this Saturday at the Crowne Plaza. Humble expects the games will sell out quickly as she only produced 500. Humble views it is her mission to tout Rhode Island, which she has effectively done by highlighting unique attributes of the state as well as having some fun with its quirky features. And what are some of the places Humble thinks come to mind about Cranston? Garden City, Twin Oaks and the Park Theatre are but three. (Herald photo)
