Cranston High Schools East and West both celebrated their homecomings with school wide celebrations over the last few weeks as Halloween looms, soon before Thanksgiving comes knocking at the door.

West held a pep rally on Friday, October 13, the day of their homecoming game, as they do every year. Typically the school holds a senior dance, highlights all of their sports teams, their band, the Falconettes and Westernettes and announces the results of the spirit week competitions. In fact, recently the school began holding a faculty dance to add to the yearly fun.

Not to be outdone, East celebrates the event with a long-standing tradition, a parade that, this year, was unfortunately rained out on its originally planned date of September 29. The parade was saved for another day and finally took place on October 20, to align with a “Senior Night” that the school celebrated at the same time.

While there was a touch of rain, sources say the night went off without a hitch and began with a speaking portion at the school before marching down to the stadium.

East's parade is a long-standing tradition but it was rained out last month so they moved it from Sept. 29th, which was homecoming weekend, to October 20 because it was Senior Night at East that night. It still rained a bit, but they were able to do the event. They did a speaking portion at the beginning in front of East and then marched down to the stadium where they won their game against Shea.
