Jean May Frances (Haglund) DuPree, age 84, passed quietly at home on Wednesday, August 10, 2022. She was preceded in death by her Parents, Carl Haglund and Ruth (Stenmark) Haglund) and a son, Robert. She is survived by her children, son Scott Kee (Steven) and daughters Lori-Ann LaPlume (Richard) and Robin Thomas; grandsons David Thomas (Kristen) and Cúan Kee, great-grandchildren Alexandra and Logan Thomas.
Jean was born and raised in Providence, where she graduated from Central High in 1955. One of her fondest memories was selling tickets for her Aunt Frances’ “Tumble Bug” ride at Rocky Point Park during the summers. She was a telephone operator and later in life she worked at The Salvation Army. Jean loved to dance, have a good laugh and going for walks where she could often be seen walking around Warwick. Like a true Rhode Islander she loved the Red Sox, clam cakes and chowder, breakfast at Newport Creamery and most of all Dunkin Donuts.
As the family gathers to remember, laugh, and cry, we want to thank all of you who have reached out to any of us. We are grateful for all your kind words, thoughts and sentiments.

If roses grow in heaven,
Lord please pick a bunch for me,
place them in my Mother’s arms
and tell her they’re from me.
Tell her I love her and miss her,
and when she turns to smile,
place a kiss upon her cheek
and hold her for awhile.
Because remembering her is easy,
I do it every day,
but there’s an ache within my heart
that will never go away.
