BENCH WARRANT
On Sept. 17 at about 9:50 a.m., Patrolman Thomas Santurri was dispatched to the area of 2071 Plainfield St. for the report of a motor-vehicle accident involving an electric bicycle. Communications personnel advised that the suspect vehicle fled the scene traveling westbound and that there were possible injuries. Santurri spoke with the bicyclist, who had minor visible injuries. He stated he fell over the handlebars of the bicycle and landed on the pavement after feeling a jolt from behind.
While conducting RILETS checks of the bicyclist, it was revealed that he had two active bench warrants. He was taken into custody and taken to police headquarters where he was processed and later transported to Superior Court.
ARREST WARRANT
On Sept. 17 at about 9:35 p.m., Patrolman Miranda L. Mascia observed a black Nissan Altima, driving northbound and observed that the male passenger was not wearing his seat belt as the car drove by. Mascia pulled off her fixed post and detained the vehicle in the area of 1302 Atwood Ave.
While checking the information of the driver and a male passenger, it was revealed that the passenger had an active arrest warrant out of Providence for violation of a court order.
He was placed under arrest and taken to Johnston Police Headquarters, where he was processed.
ARREST WARRANT
On Sept. 19 at about 7:05 p.m., a man turned himself in to JPD Headquarters. It was revealed that he had an active arrest warrant issued by the Coventry Police Department. He was escorted to the cellblock where he was processed, afforded use of the telephone, advised of his constitutional rights and held pending pickup by Coventry Police.
