The Cranston Public Library entered the third phase of its reopening plan on Monday, with a return to normal operating hours at the Central Library and expanded Thursday hours at the Auburn branch.

Stacks have been reopened for browsing, although patrons will be required to maintain 6-foot social distancing and only one person will be allowed in a row at a time.

“We have increased our building capacity, but there will still be a limit on how many people can enter our buildings at a time,” Library Director Ed Garcia said in a statement. “Face masks covering both nose and mouth are required for entry.”

Seating and study areas at the libraries will remain closed, although the Children’s Room at the Central Library, the children’s space at the Auburn branch and the picture book space at the William Hall Library have reopened.

Limited public computer access is available by reservation only, and those using computers will be limited to one hour.
