Sad news to report. Our longtime freelancer Pete Fontaine died Wednesday afternoon. He was 77 years old.

For decades, you've been reading his upbeat stories highlighting community giving. His bylines have regularly appeared in the Cranston Herald, Warwick Beacon & Johnson Sun Rise.

A funeral has been planned for 9 a.m., Tuesday, April 2, at St. Barnabas Church, 3257 Post Road, Warwick.
