Make Cranston walkable!

"Have you tried the new local coffee shop that just opened up near Itri park? No? Me either. It doesn’t exist yet. But it could, if we work together to create a more vibrant and walkable community in Cranston, Rhode Island.

Zoning for mixed use and higher density in some areas of Cranston, RI will increase foot traffic in those areas, which will help mom and pop shops. Research conducted by Accenture found that 56% of consumers are shopping at local stores in their neighborhoods. This suggests that consumers are wanting to help out their local economy by choosing to not shop at big chains.

In order to make this happen, we need to work together as a community to support zoning changes that will allow for mixed use and higher density in some areas of Cranston. We need to make sure that our voices are heard and that our elected officials understand the importance of these changes.

As a Cranston resident, I am deeply invested in the long-term health of my community. That’s why I believe that zoning for mixed use and higher density in some areas of Cranston is a step in the right direction. Not only will it help create a more vibrant and walkable community, but it will also help support local businesses.
