Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspect in a bank robbery.
According to Cranston Police, the male suspect entered the Citizens Bank branch located within the Stop & Shop at the Cranston Parkade on Garfield Avenue just after 10:30 a.m. on Monday.
After passing a note to a teller, the suspect left the branch with an “undisclosed amount of cash,” a statement from police reads. He is believed to have left the area in a black, two-door Hyundai or Nissan.
“The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5’9”, wearing a dark colored hat with a white facemask with dark spots,” the statement continues. “He was wearing a dark suit jacket, a blue button-down shirt, and a plaid tie.”
Anyone with information regarding the robbery or the suspect is asked to contact Detective Robert Santagata at 401-477-5169 or rsantagata@cranstonpoliceri.com. Tips can also be submitted anonymously through the department’s website.
