Brian Dennehy lit up the Trinity stage with his portrayal with two performances as a drunken Irishman and a fast-talking loser in “A Pound of Flesh” and “Hughie.”

Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson played Starsky and Hutch in a fair adoption of the TV characters. Johhny Depp and John Turturro starred in psychological thriller,” Secret Window.”

“NASCAR 3D” was at the IMAX Theatre in Providence Place.

”Mama Mia” returned to PPAC. Avner the Eccentric returned to Trinity.

Jazz vocalist and Cranston resident Shawn Montero gave a fabulous performance at Bryant College.

King’s Feast, an interactive medieval dinner theatre experience, was the hottest thing to hit Newport in 2004. Every Friday and Saturday night at Hose Company No. 6, the king and his court served dinner and entertainment at the converted firehouse.

Littlenecks were 30 cents each and mussels 60 cents a pound at Kaplan’s Seafood in Cranston.

The 17the Annual Art Festival was held at the Church of the Transfiguration.

“Romancing the Stone” starred Michael Douglas, Kathleen Turner, and Danny DeVito. “Police Academy” was one of the worst movies of the year.

The Harlem Globetrotters were at the Civic Center.

The great dance team of Jones and Boyce gave a free show at the Roger Williams Museum.

“Amadeus” was at Trinity.

Remember Vincent Marcello’s restaurant on Gansett Street? A variety of veal dishes were $6.25. Spaghetti  was $2.75.The seafood platter was $7.95.

The Coventry Players presented “Up the Down Staircase.” Directed by Richard Blue of Warwick. Erica Koch of Cranston was Music Director.
