Frank A. McCurdy, 78, passed away peacefully in his home on February 10, 2025. He was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy J. (Demers) McCurdy, with whom he shared over 40 years of companionship. Born in Providence, Frank was the devoted son of the late Everett J. McCurdy and Adrienne B. (Gray) McCurdy. He is survived by his loving children Sarah McCurdy, Melissa Ley and her husband Jeffrey Ley. He also leaves his adoring grandchildren Katelynn Gorman, Oliver Keating, Sebastian Keating, Madison Ley and Braydon Ley; his sisters Sylveria Metivier and Susan Cunha; as well as many loving nieces, nephews and close friends. He is predeceased by his brother Everett McCurdy Jr., sister Bernice Bailey and niece Laurie Smith.
A lifelong resident of Warwick, Frank served proudly and honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. While overseas, he earned multiple decorations and commendations for his service. Operating and maintaining radios, Frank was responsible for transmitting and receiving messages between different units on the battlefield and was often very close to combat zones.
Upon returning home, he found a career and a new passion as a Master Carpenter. He loved to tinker, build and remodel; he was truly a jack of all trades. In his free time, he enjoyed visiting the Seekonk Speedway where he also occasionally worked in the pit-crew. Above all, Frank loved and cherished his family who will miss him dearly.
Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Frank’s honor may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project by visiting the following webpage: www.woundedwarriorproject.org/donate.
