Cranston City Council Candidate Anthony Melillo (R-Ward 6) has expressed his appreciation to Mayor Kenneth Hopkins for city plans to begin paving several local streets in Ward 6.
“I have been sharing constituent concerns and ideas with the Mayor as we have campaigned together for the October 3rd special election”. Melillo said “in particular the area around Glen Hills School has needed a fresh overlay from past trenching and utility work.”
Melillo said that the Mayor has advised him that work will commence as soon as September 25th weather permitting.
Melillo noted that Glen Hills Drive near the school is heavily traveled with school buses, parents, and students. But he emphasized “it is also a transition road across Route 37 for Dean Estates residents and the Garden Hills community.”
“I appreciate the administration being responsive to these concerns”, he said. “I know that I will be an effective partner with Mayor Hopkins when elected to the city council.”
Melillo also noted that the leader of the local crime watch in the Gen Hills and Dean Estates area Albert Melikian encouraged the repaving project.
“Mr. Melikian has been generous in his time and support for my candidacy.” Melillo said “we have met several times to talk about his group’s neighborhood concerns.”
