More expense means more tax dollars

To the Editor,

Two High Schools:

As expected, the cost of the two high schools exceeds the 350 million dollars the people agreed to. Shocking. No, not really. We all knew it would. Now, the folks expecting to get 'two high schools for the price of one' as a person said, may as well wish for star dust and fairies to appear. The project has already been 'value engineered', meaning the buildings will be nothing like advertised. More expense means more tax dollars from property owners in Warwick. Many folks in the city think bond money is different from taxes. It is not.

It is just another method of taxation. In this case, you can count on your taxes being high for the next 5-7 years. If they put this boondoggle up for another vote, vote against it.
