Summertime Sun Safety Tips
From URI Pharm D class of 2021 candidates
As the weather warms up, most of us are eager to get outside to enjoy the sunshine, especially now after so much staying at home. While it is great to get outside for a walk or to see family or friends, it is important to stick to social distancing guidelines and protect your skin.
Here are some tips for staying safe in the sun:
Cover up: Wear wide-brimmed hats, long sleeves and pants when possible.
Wear ultraviolet (UV) protected sunglasses
Use sunscreen: Use broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 15 or higher.
Stay hydrated: Do NOT wait until you are thirsty to drink water, try to drink on a regular schedule.
