While our center continues to be closed for programs and activities, we ask all of you to continue to stay active both physically and mentally. There are a number of programs and activities you can find online.
The Age Friendly RI Virtual Community Center is one of these places where you can connect, learn, and play online when in-person experiences are not possible. Take part in a wide array of online activities … fitness and wellness, cooking, tech help, entertainment, games, and so much more. Social Services staff is available to assist seniors by appointment only. If you are confused about the vast array of programs and services available and need help sorting through this maze, call us today. Our staff can assist you with the eligibility and application for services and programs such as Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, SNAP, housing, heating assistance, National Grid assistance and Lifeline discounts, to name a few. Transvan is available to provide transportation for our paying members from their home to the following: Stop & Shop and Dave’s Markets on Tuesdays; Shaw’s Market on Wednesdays; Walmart on Thursdays; and Aldi’s on Fridays. You must be able to manage boarding and disembarking Transvan independently without assistance. Reservations are required two business days in advance. Seating is limited due to the social distancing restrictions, so you are encouraged to call early. Call Jane at 780-6220.
